    FAQs

Learn More About Our Weight Management Program

    • Why was the Weight Management Program developed?

      Show answer.

At Restore, we believe that an active lifestyle is a key ingredient to a fuller, happier life—and that starts with sustaining a healthy weight. Additionally, obesity is associated with many life-threatening diseases, including, but not limited to, diabetes, cancer, hormonal issues, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. We were determined to develop a weight-loss program that was clinically effective, backed by science, deeply personalized and sustainable. The wellness industry is filled with diet and lifestyle fads that claim to deliver weight-loss results, but we were committed to developing a weight management program that was both achievable and aspirational—combining clinically effective components with personalized plans that deliver results.

    • Do I qualify for the program?

      Show answer.

Qualification for the Weight Management program for those 18 years of age or older is determined by a clinician. Each individual’s body composition, skeletal muscle mass, metabolic health biomarkers/labs, and medical history is analyzed for qualification. Not all candidates will qualify for medication.

    • What if I don’t qualify for weight loss medication?

      Show answer.

At Restore, we’re committed to supporting you on your weight loss journey, whether you qualify for these medications or not. We will work with you to create a personalized plan featuring Restore therapies that support weight loss, including Infrared Sauna, Whole Body Cryotherapy, Lipo + B12 and Vitamin D shots and IV Therapy with L-Carnitine, Trace Minerals, and B vitamins.

    • What blood-based biomarkers/labs is the program testing for?

      Show answer.

To assess your metabolic health, we evaluate essential blood-based biomarkers regularly as part of our Metabolic Panel.

      These evaluations include:

      • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP): Monitors components of kidney health, hydration, liver function, nutritional status, blood sugar and high blood pressure effects.
      • HbA1C: Tracks average blood sugar levels over three months,
      • Lipid Panel: Measures different forms of cholesterol in your blood, including total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol (the "good" cholesterol), LDL cholesterol (the "bad" cholesterol) and triglycerides.
      • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): Evaluates thyroid function and its impact on metabolism and weight.
      • hs-CRP: A marker of total body inflammation.
    • Can I use previous labs/bloodwork?

      Show answer.

Yes, please make sure to have recent blood work (completed within the last six months) available during your initial consultation. The studio staff will need to review this and make sure it meets our criteria for external labs/bloodwork. Additional blood work may be required and ordered by the studio.

    • Why are you not using BMI as a qualification for the program?

      Show answer.

BMI is a commonly used measurement that takes into account a person’s height and weight. However, it does not distinguish between excess fat, muscle or bone mass; nor does it provide any indication of the distribution of fat among individuals. On the other hand, body composition provides a more comprehensive understanding of an individual’s body makeup by assessing the percentage of fat, muscle and other tissues. There are also significant differences in body
types and cardiometabolic health risks based on biological sex, age, race and ethnicity (Learn more about the InBody Scan here.) BMI, when used in isolation, is a crude marker for individual health status. Our clinicians use the constellation of data, including body composition, blood-based biomarkers and detailed discussions with you to determine the personalized approach that will help maximize your metabolic health and longevity.

    • What medications will I be prescribed?

      Show answer.

Those who qualify and are deemed eligible candidates by our clinicians will be prescribed a semaglutide or tirzepatide compounded medication. The main active ingredient for the compounded medications we are offering is semaglutide—the active ingredient in FDA-approved drugs such as Novo Nordisk's Wegovy ® and Ozempic ® or tirzepatide—the active ingredient in FDA-approved drugs such as Eli Lily's Mounjaro® and Zepbound®.

Please Note: We are not affiliated with nor endorsed by Novo Nordisk or Eli Lily, who manufacture branded medications known as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound. We currently do not offer branded prescription medications, and those seeking to be prescribed branded medications should seek alternate healthcare avenues.

    • What is Semaglutide?

      Show answer.

Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist used to improve metabolic health and support weight loss as an adjunct to lifestyle changes. This active ingredient in FDA-approved medications have become the leading drug in its class due to its proven safety and efficacy.

    • What is Tirzepatide?

      Show answer.

Tirzepatide is a dual glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor agonist that is the active ingredient in other FDA-approved drugs for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Tirzepatide has also been approved for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related condition (such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes or high cholesterol) for use, in addition to a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity.

    • What are the possible side effects of semaglutide or tirzepatide?

      Show answer.

Possible side effects include: Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, mild to moderate abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, dyspepsia, dizziness, abdominal distension, belching, hypoglycemia, flatulence, gastroenteritis, loss of lean muscle mass and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Common injection site reactions are characterized by itching and burning at the site of administration with or without thickening of the skin (welting).

    • How much does the program cost?

      Show answer.

Program costs include an intake cost of $100-$150, depending on the studio location and biomarker lab testing. Those who qualify and are deemed eligible candidates for medication by our clinicians will then pay a monthly membership fee of $600-$675, depending on the medication that is prescribed. It is important to note your monthly membership includes medication, ongoing telemedicine visits with a Nurse Practitioner, personalized progress tracking, bi-annual biomarker labs and continuing guidance for your weight loss journey.

    • Is medication included in the program?

      Show answer.

Yes, for those who qualify and are deemed eligible candidates by our clinicians, the semaglutide or tirzepatide medication is included in the monthly cost of the program.

    • What is a compounded medication, and is it safe?

      Show answer.

Drug compounding is the process of combining or mixing ingredients to create a medication tailored to an individual patient's needs. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved, but the main active ingredients in our medications, semaglutide and tirzepatide, are the active ingredients in FDA-approved drugs such as Ozempic and Mounjaro. Restore’s supply chain team has done due diligence to ensure that our partnered pharmacies use the main active ingredients for our weight loss medications as those in popular FDA-approved medications and that our partnered pharmacies use the FDA-approved API to compound semaglutide and tirzepatide.

    • How much weight can I expect to lose?

      Show answer.

It is important to understand that your physiology is unique. Everyone responds differently to medical therapies, and the same is true for semaglutide and tirzepatide. Both tirzepatide and semaglutide have been shown to reduce weight for patients with overweight or obesity in randomized controlled trials. The STEP-1 trial tested the effect of high-dose semaglutide to produce weight loss in people with obesity who do not have diabetes. The results revealed an average 14.9% reduction in body weight from baseline during 68 weeks of treatment with semaglutide 2.4 mg plus a lifestyle intervention, compared with just a 2.4% reduction in the placebo plus lifestyle intervention group. The SURMOUNT-1 trial tested the ability of tirzepatide to produce weight loss in people with obesity who do not have diabetes. During 72 weeks of treatment, people taking tirzepatide at doses of 5, 10, or 15 mg lost an average of 15.0%, 19.5%, and 20.9%, respectively, compared with just 3.1% in people taking a placebo. It is important to note that real-world results from these therapies often differ from the results from controlled clinical trials.

    • Do you take insurance?

      Show answer.

Insurance is not required for the Weight Management Program, as the monthly scheduled telemedicine visits and medications are included in the monthly cost of the Program.

    • Who should not take weight loss medications?

      Show answer.

The decision to use a weight -loss medication is a personal decision that requires shared decision-making between you and your clinical provider. At Restore, our Weight Management Program is designed to improve metabolic health and support your longevity. While we understand that many people want to lose weight for a variety of different reasons, our clinicians focus on using our advanced therapies and in-studio offerings to advance your metabolic health, i.e., how your body manages and uses energy, which is critical to your long-term health and vitality.

    • I am currently taking medication for weight loss. Do I qualify?

      Show answer.

Your eligibility will be based on a consultation with one of our expertly trained clinicians. If approved, we will determine the best way to implement and tailor our Weight Management Program to your needs.

    • Does the program treat additional medical conditions?

      Show answer.

Currently, our program is designed to guide clients down a personalized weight loss journey. It is not a traditional healthcare avenue for patients to seek treatment outside the established clinical guidelines of the Weight Management Program. If you are seeking care for something other than weight management, we advise you to seek an alternative healthcare provider.
