Chun, E., Joseph, R., & Pojednic, R. (2024). Whole-Body Cryotherapy Reduces Systemic Inflammation in Healthy Adults: Pilot Cohort Study. Interactive journal of medical research, 13, e60942.
RestoreLabs investigated the effects of Whole Body Cryotherapy on systemic inflammation in healthy adults. The peer-reviewed findings suggest that Cryotherapy may provide anti-inflammatory benefits and reduce fasting glucose in individuals without chronic disease-related inflammation.
This study measured inflammation (hsCRP) and metabolic biomarkers in 15 healthy adults who used Whole Body Cryotherapy (W-BC) over nine months. The results showed that more frequent use of W-BC, starting at six sessions per month, were linked to lower inflammation and potential improvements in blood sugar.

“Our study adds to the growing evidence that Whole Body Cryotherapy can be a powerful tool for managing systemic inflammation—even in healthy individuals. We found that at least six Cryotherapy sessions significantly lowered hsCRP, a key marker of inflammation, with effects lasting up to nine months. We also observed promising trends in fasting glucose regulation. While Cryotherapy is often associated with athletic recovery, our findings suggest it may have broader benefits for long-term metabolic health. By tracking key biomarkers over time, we’re gaining a clearer picture of how cold therapy can support overall wellness before chronic disease develops.”
