Chun, E., Siojo, A., Rivera, D., Reyna, K., Legere, H., Joseph, R., & Pojednic, R. (2025). Weight loss and body composition after compounded semaglutide treatment in a real world setting. Diabetes, obesity & metabolism, 27(3), 1536–1543.
This peer-reviewed RestoreLabs study evaluated the efficacy of weekly compounded semaglutide injections for weight loss and body composition changes in the Restore studio setting. Clients experienced significant reductions in fat mass, especially in the abdominal area, while maintaining or even increasing muscle mass relative to total weight.
This study analyzed 94 (81 females, 13 males) individuals, with a mean age of 46 years, receiving weekly subcutaneous semaglutide injections, along with intensive diet and exercise coaching from Nurse Practitioners. Clients safely lost an average of 9lbs over 3 months, while maintaining skeletal muscle mass.

“Our study provides real-world evidence that the Restore Weight Management track supports meaningful fat loss while maintaining skeletal muscle mass, a critical factor for long-term metabolic health. While concerns about muscle loss have dominated headlines, our data show that individuals lost fat while preserving a healthy proportion of lean mass. This underscores the importance of tracking body composition—not just weight—when evaluating progress. With personalized coaching from Nurse Practitioners, clients not only achieve weight loss but do so in a way that supports strength, metabolic health and long-term success.”
