GLP-1 Compound Medications:
Semaglutide & Tirzepatide

What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide is a dual glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor agonist. Tirzepatide can also help with weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related condition (such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes or high cholesterol) for use, in addition to a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonist used to improve metabolic health and support weight loss as an adjunct to lifestyle changes. This active ingredient has become the leading drug in its class due to its proven safety and efficacy.

Weight Management FAQ

Why were the GLP-1 Plans developed?

At Restore, we believe that an active lifestyle is a key ingredient to a fuller, happier life—and that starts with sustaining a healthy weight. Obesity is associated with many life-threatening diseases, including (but not limited to) diabetes, cancer, hormonal issues, stroke and cardiovascular disease. We were determined to develop a weight-loss solution that was clinically effective, backed by science, deeply personalized and sustainable. The wellness industry is filled with diet and lifestyle fads that claim to deliver weight-loss results, but we were committed to developing GLP-1 Plans that were both achievable and aspirational, combining clinically effective components with personalized plans that deliver results.

Who should consider weight loss injections?

It’s estimated that half of the U.S. population will be obese by 2030, which is defined as “abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health” by the World Health Organization. Being overweight and obese contributes to numerous health conditions, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, sleep and musculoskeletal disorders, stroke, hormonal issues, certain cancers and a decreased lifespan. While how much you eat is a primary risk factor for obesity, it’s not the only factor. It also depends on the type of food you eat, the amount of physical activity you get each day, whether you’re getting quality sleep and even stress and genetics. Certain people also have a hormonal imbalance that can affect their level of hunger and make it difficult to lose weight, despite healthy lifestyle practices. Weight loss injections may also help those people reach their weight-loss goals.

How do I qualify?

Body Mass Index (BMI) is used to determine eligibility for GLP-1 Plans. It begins with a licensed Registered Nurse consultation, followed by a Telemed visit with a Nurse Practitioner who will confirm your eligibility and create a personalized Plan.

Though BMI is used for eligibility, it does not differentiate between fat, muscle or bone mass and it doesn’t account for how fat is distributed in the body.Body composition analysis however, provides a more detailed view by measuring the proportion of fat, muscle and other tissues, giving you a clearer picture of your physical health. Select Restore studios offer unlimited body composition analysis with InBody scans, which can track your progress.

Once cleared for a GLP-1 Plan, your medication is prescribed and can either be shipped directly to your home or picked up in-studio, where nursing staff can assist with administration if preferred.Qualification for GLP-1 Plans for those 18 years of age or older is determined by a clinician. Not all candidates will qualify for medication or be recommended to join our GLP-1 Plans without medication.

What if I don’t qualify for GLP-1 compound medications?

At Restore, we’re committed to supporting you on your weight loss journey, whether you qualify for these medications or not. We will work with you to create a personalized Plan featuring a variety of science-backed therapies.

What weight loss injections will I be prescribed?

Those who qualify and are deemed eligible candidates by our clinicians will be prescribed a semaglutide or tirzepatide compounded medication.

What are the possible side effects of semaglutide or tirzepatide injections?

Possible side effects include: Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, mild to moderate abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, dyspepsia, dizziness, abdominal distension, belching, hypoglycemia, flatulence, gastroenteritis, loss of lean muscle mass and gastroesophageal reflux disease. Common injection site reactions are characterized by itching and burning at the site of administration with or without thickening of the skin (welting).

How much does it cost?

Only pay for what you need! Costs vary and range from $225 - $750/month based on your medication dosage and goals. Access to science-backed therapies such as IV Drips and ongoing Nurse Practitioner calls can be added for an additional fee. Ask your studio about joining a Restore Membership to use Credits to unlock greater value for therapies and Nurse Practitioner calls.

What is a compounded medication, and is it safe?

Drug compounding is the process of combining or mixing ingredients to create a medication tailored to an individual patient's needs. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved, but the main active ingredients in our medications, semaglutide and tirzepatide, are the active ingredients in FDA-approved drugs. Restore’s supply chain team has done due diligence to ensure that our partnered pharmacies use the main active ingredients for our weight loss medications as those in popular FDA-approved medications.

How much weight can I expect to lose with weight loss injections?

It is important to understand that your physiology is unique. Everyone responds differently to medical therapies, and the same is true for semaglutide and tirzepatide. Both tirzepatide and semaglutide injections have been shown to reduce weight in patients with overweight or obesity in randomized controlled trials. The STEP-1 trial tested the effect of high-dose semaglutide to produce weight loss in people with obesity who do not have diabetes. The results revealed an average 14.9% reduction in body weight from baseline during 68 weeks of treatment with semaglutide 2.4 mg plus a lifestyle intervention, compared with just a 2.4% reduction in the placebo plus lifestyle intervention group. The SURMOUNT-1 trial tested the ability of tirzepatide to produce weight loss in people with obesity who do not have diabetes. During 72 weeks of treatment, people taking tirzepatide at doses of 5, 10, or 15 mg lost an average of 15.0%, 19.5%, and 20.9%, respectively, compared with just 3.1% in people taking a placebo. It is important to note that real-world results from these therapies often differ from the results from controlled clinical trials.

Do you take insurance?

The GLP-1 Plans were designed as a solution to the limitations and complexities of traditional healthcare and insurance. To make this accessible, we do not take insurance.

Who should not take weight loss medications?

The decision to use a weight loss medication is a personal decision that requires shared decision-making between you and your clinical provider. At Restore, our GLP-1 Plans are designed to improve metabolic health and support your longevity. While we understand that many people want to lose weight for a variety of different reasons, our clinicians focus on using our prescription options and science-backed therapies to advance your metabolic health (how your body manages and uses energy), which is critical to your long-term health and vitality.

I am currently taking medication for weight loss. Do I qualify?

Your eligibility for medication will be based on a consultation with one of our expertly trained clinicians. If approved, we will determine the best way to implement and tailor our GLP-1 Plans to your needs.

Does Weight Management treat additional medical conditions?

Currently, our GLP-1 Plans are designed to guide clients down a personalized weight loss journey. It is not a traditional healthcare avenue for patients to seek treatment outside the established clinical guidelines of Weight Management. If you are seeking care for something other than weight loss, we advise you to seek an alternative healthcare provider.

How can I maximize the benefits of weight loss injections?

Weight loss medications shouldn’t be seen as a standalone solution. They are one part of a holistic approach to safe, sustainable weight loss. To get the best results from weight loss injections, it’s essential to combine these medications with healthy lifestyle practices like a nutritious diet, regular physical activity, quality sleep and stress management.

“At Restore Hyper Wellness, our approach to weight loss medications is unparalleled. We don't just focus on weight loss; we ensure our clients achieve healthy, sustainable results by using advanced tools to track fat loss and preserve muscle. Our ongoing clinical care provides a higher standard of care that truly transforms lives.”
