Did you know that 25% of U.S. adults and children have seasonal allergies? If you’re dealing with sneezing, itchy watery eyes or a runny nose this spring, you’re likely experiencing seasonal allergies.

Experts from our Medical Team put together a Wellness Plan tailored to help combat seasonal allergies with science-backed therapies. Find out more about seasonal allergies, what you can do today at home to help with allergies and which Restore therapies can help provide relief.

What Causes Seasonal Allergies?

Often, seasonal allergies are caused by high pollen levels, dust and dust mites, pet dander and mold. The Cleveland Clinic explains that allergens are typically harmless proteins, but sometimes, your body overreacts to being exposed to a particular protein for the first time. Seeing it as a threat, your immune system responds by trying to remove it through the release of a chemical called “histamine,” which causes those unwanted allergy symptoms.

How to Manage Seasonal Allergy Symptoms

While there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to treat seasonal allergies, there are steps you can take to help manage the symptoms.

The first step starts with having a consistent cleaning routine:

  • Dust all surfaces and vacuum/clean your floors at least once a week to remove dust and outdoor contaminants that you might track in
  • Wash your bedding in hot water every week
  • Replace dust-prone window coverings like curtains and drapes with shades or shutters
  • Clean mildew from your bathrooms, which if left untreated, creates an ideal environment for allergy-inducing mold
  • Invest in a dehumidifier to reduce moisture in the air and an air purifier with a HEPA filter that can remove airborne allergens like dust and pollen

Monthly Wellness Plan for Allergies

Along with creating a clean external environment, we have a monthly Wellness Plan that leverages our science-backed therapies to help manage your allergy symptoms.

Defender IV Drip Therapy

If you’re seeking targeted relief from seasonal allergies, the Defender IV Drip offers a science-backed blend of nutrients designed to support your immune system and help reduce allergy symptoms. This IV Drip delivers a potent combination of Glutathione, Vitamin B12, Taurine, Lysine, Vitamin C and Zinc, each selected for their roles in immune modulation and allergy relief.

How these Nutrients Support Allergy Relief:

  • Glutathione
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that plays a crucial role in reducing inflammation and protecting lung tissue. Research shows that restoring glutathione levels can decrease allergen-induced airway hyperresponsiveness and inflammation in asthma and other respiratory conditions, making it a valuable nutrient for those with seasonal allergies.¹
  • Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is essential for healthy immune function. Some studies suggest that adequate B12 levels may help reduce the severity of allergy symptoms and support overall immune balance, though further research is ongoing.
  • Taurine
Taurine is an amino acid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been shown to protect tissues from oxidative stress and may help modulate immune responses, potentially reducing allergy-related inflammation.
  • Lysine
Lysine is an essential amino acid involved in immune regulation. While its primary role is often associated with viral defense, lysine also supports tissue repair and may contribute to overall immune resilience.
  • Vitamin C (2x dose)
Vitamin C is a well-known antioxidant and natural antihistamine. Peer-reviewed studies indicate that Vitamin C supplementation can reduce histamine levels and support airway health, providing relief from allergy symptoms.² Its antioxidant action also helps protect cells from damage during allergic reactions.
  • Zinc
Zinc is vital for the proper functioning of the immune system. Research demonstrates that zinc can help regulate immune responses and may reduce the severity and duration of allergy symptoms by stabilizing cell membranes and decreasing inflammation.³

What to Expect

Your Defender IV Drip session begins with a consultation to ensure the therapy is tailored to your needs. The infusion takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes, during which you can relax in a comfortable setting. The blend of nutrients is delivered directly into your bloodstream for maximum absorption and rapid effect.
Did You Know?
Vitamin C is a micronutrient that may help relieve allergies by acting as a natural antihistamine while protecting airways².

Infrared Sauna

Infrared Saunas are an ancient heat therapy practice optimized with a modern twist. By heating the body through light waves and by increasing the temperature of the ambient air inside the sauna, infrared light has been shown to help improve symptoms related to allergies, including nasal obstruction and itchiness, which can also improve your overall quality of life.

What to Expect

You’ll sweat—but that’s a good thing! Studies have found that sweating may help the body detoxify from heavy metals and many harmful free radicals that can hurt your overall health.

During your session, you’ll enter a private room, undress and cover yourself in a towel or robe. Then, you’ll enter our Infrared Sauna, heated up to 170º F, for a 15 to 45-minute session based on your personalized needs. Once complete, you may continue sweating, so it’s important to change into light, breathable clothing, shower within an hour if possible and drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Red Light Therapy

Red Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses low levels of red or near-infrared light to treat various conditions. And unlike tanning booths, Red Light Therapy won’t expose your skin to damaging UV rays. Instead, the wavelengths from our machines are soaked up by your mitochondria, which are key players in things like healing, energy and day-to-day health.

What to Expect

Red Light Therapy at Restore can be done in as little as 10 minutes. You’ll be led to a private Red Light Therapy room where you have the option to expose as much of your skin as you’re comfortable with. Once it begins, you’ll feel like you’re basking in warm gentle sunlight. All you have to do is close your eyes and relax, and you’ll reap the additional benefits of improved vision and skin health!

Did You Know?

According to the National Library of Medicine, Red Light Therapy was reported to reduce allergy symptoms by up to 72%.
